Working with Teens
Adolescence is a time of discovery — a season of change, emotion, and deep questioning. It’s a stage where identity, relationships, and self-understanding are being formed, often in the midst of pressure, confusion, and the desire for independence. In my work with teens, I create a space that is both grounding and open — a space where young people can speak freely, explore who they are, and begin to trust their own voice.
Many teens come to therapy feeling anxious, misunderstood, or overwhelmed by expectations — from family, school, peers, or themselves. Our sessions focus on helping them build emotional awareness, resilience, and confidence while learning healthy ways to manage stress, relationships, and transitions.
My approach combines mindfulness, creativity, and gentle self-inquiry. Sometimes that looks like talking things through; other times it might mean exploring music, story, or metaphor as ways of expression. I meet teens where they are — with curiosity, humor, and respect — allowing therapy to feel like a conversation rather than a classroom.
